“Too good for this world.”
Baylie was a bright light and the kindest soul you could ever know.
Bailey preferred to spell her name “Baylie.” Unique, like her. To honor Baylie’s wishes, we have changed the spelling of her name to the one she liked best.
Baylie was a neuroscience major in the pre-med program at the University of Miami. She was a sorority sister at Zeta Tau Alpha and pursued her passion for riding on the College Equestrian Team. Baylie was a lifeguard through the summer and worked as a waitress and hostess. She had just been hired as a medical scribe for the hospital, the youngest ever. A position reserved for medical students. Hardworking and driven to succeed, Baylie was exceptional. She was brave, strong, confident, mature, and highly intelligent. She could move mountains and was destined for greatness. Baylie was the very best friend, you could ever have, the girl who stood up for the underdog, and the one who could change the world.
Baylie lived an accelerated life and experienced more in her short years than most. Although her dreams were big, her heart was even bigger. Baylie championed friendship and unity, she supported the fight against breast cancer. Her bright light and strong spirit were evident to all who knew her. She could light up the room with her smile. Baylie had wisdom beyond her years and was truly a class act. Her energy could lift you up, she had a way of making people feel special. She knew everyone had a story, and valued people for who they were, not for their accomplishments. Baylie could make you feel like the most important person in the world; and in her eyes, you were.
Baylie graduated from Kent school and was accepted to several colleges with scholarship offers. Baylie’s dream school was the University of Miami, and she was delighted when the offer came in with the highest award. Baylie was academically focused but also excelled at riding. She was on the equestrian team at Kent, and later, Crew. Baylie could be fun; she was silly, happy, and playful. Her outgoing personality took her far in life.
Baylie was a perfectionist but offered grace to those who couldn’t keep up with her pace. She was a generous and selfless person who put other people’s needs ahead of her own. From the time she was little, she wanted to be a doctor. Nothing would stand in her way and without a doubt she would have achieved her goal.
Beautiful inside and out, Baylie was an earth angel destined for more than what the world could provide for her.
Baylie has already changed lives and will continue to do so, throughout her legacy.
