    Baylie Grogan

    05/06/1999 - 08/19/2018

Forever 19, Baylie’s light continues to shine. Baylie lived life to the fullest and her dreams were big. Baylie was a pre-med student at the University of Miami, and wanted to be a neurosurgeon. Baylie was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
She graduated from Kent School, where she enjoyed equestrian and crew.

Aug 19th, Baylie suffered a tragedy involving a suspected date rape drug, given to her in the Uber by two men she did not know. At 3am in the pouring rain, attempting to walk to safety, Baylie was struck and became the victim of a pedestrian fatality. Baylie survived for six weeks before succumbing to her injuries. Baylie has shown her light ever since, in many ways. She is still here and very much with us every day.
Forever loved and cherished, xo mom

  • Madi Brooks

Madi was a vibrant outgoing 19 year old at LSU enrolled in their pre-law program. She also was a member of the Alpha-Phi sorority and championed friendship. She lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of beach days with friends, shopping with her mother and loved Friday night football games as a cheerleader.  On January 15th, 2023 I received the call no mother should ever have.

Madi was excited to start back her second year at LSU and I was planning on moving her into the sorority house the next day. On January 15th 2023 Madi was out at a popular bar in LSU's Tigerland with friends. She was highly intoxicated and her friends were not around. Madi was taken by 4 men where she was assaulted by two of them in the vehicle. She was later dropped off in the pouring rain at approximately 3:00 am. I assume she was trying to get to her friend's house where she was staying. Madi was later hit by a rideshare driver and died several hours later at the hospital.

There was a silver lining in that 2 good samaritans stopped at the accident site and stayed with her until we were able to get to the hospital. The Madison Brooks Foundation honors her life and promotes the safety of young adults. The bar is now closed and will never re-open again. Lives are being changed and it is my mission to ensure another family doesn't endure the pain we have faced.

Ashlee was such a beautiful light with so many demons that tried to burn out her light and they won. She was the type if girl that was always there for you, if she had 1 box of kd and your child was hungry that child ate. She was a loving daughter, sister and foremost a mother to 2 beautiful children. I've felt loss before but never have I had my heart shatter instantly, my breath taken so suddenly and an instant change if the person I once was. There are so many things I could say but my heart hurts.
    Love always and eternally mama.
    Ashlee forever 32 ❤️
